Responses of Functional Traits of Macrobenthic Communities to Human Activities in Daya Bay (A Subtropical Semi-Enclosed Bay), China

چکیده
The biological trait analysis (BTA) is regarded as a promising approach to unravel how ecosystem functions respond human-induced disturbances. This study considered the four sampling locations associated with different human activities in Daya Bay, that is, domestic and industrial sewage discharge area (SED), mariculture (MRC), nuclear power plants thermal (NTD), an relatively low disturbance reference (REF). Thirty modalities of nine traits were selected BTA. Our results showed clear shift functional structure macrobenthic communities between locations, except for case NTD REF. composition did not highlight any seasonal patterns. Bioturbation, longevity, tolerance, body size, feeding habit, environmental position key characterize demonstrated predictable responses along gradients. Water depth, DO, Chl- , NH 4 + petroleum contaminants sediments main variables influencing composition. In addition, taxonomic index ( H′ ) diversity (Rao’s Q) differences among locations. Although there no significant REF terms diversity, potential function loss still can be detected through integrated diversity. We suggest (except fragility, larval development, living habits) indices Rao’s could serve indicators ecological conditions Bay.

Daya Bay Neutrino Experiment
The observation of neutrino oscillation in experiments involving solar, atmospheric, accelerator, and reactor neutrinos has demonstrated that the masses of neutrinos are nonzero, and neutrinos with different flavors can mix with each other to form the mass eigenstates. Neutrino oscillation has provided the only compelling evidence thus far for new physics beyond the standard model (SM). The sma...
متن کامل(Non)decoherence in the Daya Bay Experiment
The topic of decoherence in neutrino oscillations is intellectually interesting, but it is not relevant to a successful neutrino-oscillation experiment such as Daya Bay, in that if oscillations were observed, then there was essentially no decoherence in the experiment. As such, little knowledge of decoherence can be extracted from the data of a successful neutrino experiment, and a discussion o...
متن کاملMuon simulation at the Daya Bay site
With a good-resolution mountain profile, we simulated the underground muon flux at the Daya Bay site. We modified the standard Gaisser’s formula to describe the muon flux at the sea-level. At large zenith angle or small muon energies, which may be important in the Daya Bay case, the modified formula describe the experimental data much better than the standard one. MUSIC code was used to transpo...
متن کاملWater Conditioning for the Daya Bay Experiment
This document outlines our understanding of the specifications and proposed technical design for the Daya Bay water conditioning system, as of June 2007. In June 2007, the Daya Bay experiment has passed CD-0 and CD-1 reviews, and is preparing for technical reviews on the way to a CD-2 panel, which is expected to convene in Fall 2007. This document means to summarize the current status of the sy...
متن کاملThe Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment
The Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is designed to study the disappearance of antineutrinos from the Daya Bay nuclear power plant in China. The goal of this experiment is to measure the remaining unknown neutrino mixing parameter 613 with high precision: sin^(26i3) < 0.01. The experiment is presently under construction and it is anticipated that data acquisition will begin in 2011.
